Personal Biography

I am married to a former senior civil servant and have two grown up children. My son is a chartered accountant now lives in England, is married with three children. My daughter, also a chartered accountant now lives in Mozambique and is married with one daughter.

As a family we keep in close touch and visit each other as frequently as possible. When time permits I enjoy travelling, my garden, the local theatre and socialising with a group of friends not involved in politics who keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.


Professional Biography

I have been honoured to serve as Deputy Mayor and Mayor. I sit on all of the Council’s main committees and chair the important Policy Committee. I am dedicated to the work of Council and 'I am' a full time Councillor.

I take my responsibilities seriously and work hard representing my constituents. I fully appreciate that it is impossible to satisfy all of the people all of the time, however I have a very good success rate with queries raised with me and a large number of satisfied residents.

One of my council responsibilities is representing constituents when dealing with the Planning Service. Mostly this is when the Planning Service pronounces opinions which go against local feeling which need to challenged and fought against.
