I am involved with a number of other public bodies:

Member of the North Down District Policing Partnership
Vice-Chair of the Local Government Staff Commission
Chair the Housing Executive Liaison Panel
On the Board of Governors of a number of local schools
Bangor West group co-ordinator for the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme
Women’s Champion for the N.I.L.G.A. representing the U.U.P
Co-ordinated for the Visible Women conference.

Community Involvement

I am actively involved with a very wide range of general community interests through the area, for example I am Chair of, The Friends of Bangor Community Hospital, a small committee which I started some 10 years ago. To date we have been successful in raising over £100,00 to aid patient and staff comforts.

I am a member of the Omnibus Partnership and successfully campaigned to retain a bus service for the elderly and disabled.

I fought to make sure Bangor Library’s upgrade happened as quickly as it did.

I was privileged to cut the first sod for the new day care centre in Bangor.
